What does I/F mean in the wiring diagrams to a combination meter

I'm looking at some wiring diagrams for a 2004 STI. I do not understand why they have I/F in the diagram below:

Can anyone elaborate as to what that means? Is it just a reference saying that the microcomputer recieves an input from the ECU/Vehicle Speed sensor?

Yep, interface. It just indicates there is some internal circuitry between the microprocessor and the connection to the vehicle.
