Angry Problem with interior lighting...

When driving home from Austin two days ago, my radio and clock suddenly turn off. I figured it was just something going on so I didn't think anything about it. Then it turns out that my trip resets at start-up and my odometer goes blank every time I turn the car off like I disconnected the battery. In addition to that my alarm doesn't work and my dome lights and maplights are off. I checked the fuses under the dash and they were fine, then I checked under the hood and the fuse for radio/room is fried. So being the idiot that I am immediately try to put a new fuse in and it catches an arc from the fuse box when I am more that three inches from the socket. What could be shorting this fuse out?

BTW I have leds with resistors behind the cluster for all of the twist out connections and then I have led festoons for my maplights and dome light. The festoons might have resistors but I don't know...

An arc? So you are saying electrons shot 3" out of your fuse panel and up to the fuse in your hand?

What is a festoon? Looks like light strings on google.

Sounds to me like god might be angry with you for the christmas light thing.

Since you've been messing around with the wiring for the lighting, and it happened suddenly while driving, either you left something loose and it fell off and touched something it shouldn't have, or some insulation/tape wore through or fell off and allowed conductors to touch. Just examine all the wiring you installed/modified and you'll find it. Try not to install any more fuses beforehand, as you really don't want to end up frying something like your integrated module.

I haven't messed with any wiring just put leds where the old bulbs were without any splicing or cutting of any wires...
