I have been contemplating a ej205 setup with my wrx heads and MAYBE STi cams for a while, but was wondering if anyone in the MW area has done this and what costs totalled up to? I know I'd need an STi shortblock, I already have injectors, fmic, turbo from my currect setup. Just an idea I'm throwing around but want an idea what it would cost.

I've done it, which means Tim has done it. I'd say ballpark price you are looking at like $500 or so for the labor (if we do it). I'd suggest getting cometic head gaskets to lower the CR a little and new timing belt/water pump while you are at it. Parts wise right now you are probably looking at around $2k total.

Not bad, does anyone buy wrx shortblocks? I am just wondering ballpark what I could possibly sell mine for if I decide to do such a project.

I give you five dallah for ur block!
![]() All kidding aside, it depends on the condition and miles on your block, but there is usually at least someone who wants a used stock block. Just don't expect too much. |

Would like 500-750 be "reasonable"? I want to swap but finances are tight so I'm just looking for where money could come from.
