I have a chance to get a s-afc for a good price. I've searched the forums and most of the info is quite old on the subject. Is it worth getting for a '00 RS? What gains can I expect? Thanx

i think the 99-00 actually can see a gain with a j-tube intake. older cars have seen gains higher than 10hp.

i really don't think it's worth it on the sohc RS though. how good of a price?

on a stock car you won't see any gains except for better gass mileage and driveability.

apparently the 00+ ecu's learn around it, so its worthless..from what I hear

if you have a MAF then there will be some gains. The MAP learns around it. MAFs don't. I think it was good for like up to 10 or 12 hp, with intake, exhaust, etc.

I got it for $75. Not bad.

You can set it to alter the a/f ratio at certain throttle positions. I have mine so it adds fuel above 85% throttle where the ECU reverts back to a fixed map (I forget if thats the open or closed loop).
