no offense but my honest opinion is that that is probably one of the most hideous chassis ever created, but def. has a good power plant

i think it is fugly as well. it may be faster, but it is a ford, and a taurus, two of my least favorites combined with the fact that it is an auto with crhomies. yay

96+ AT only, 3.4L yamaha V8 235hp and 235 tq....i think. Real nice car, great for DD with a little bit of fun.

89-95's had had 3L V6 or 3.2L V6. 3.2 came with the ATs

Most people have no idea what SHOs can do or how nice they are.

Back in 90 the SHO has as fast as the Mustang....of that year of course.

The yamaha engines were design by porsche and yamaha and were detuned for the US.

I def. hate the newer SHO's (aka the one pictured)... the older ones that came in MTX were quite nice but I don't dig the pictured gen.

Its funny how that car came about, Ford wanted to build a new sports car and had Yamaha build them that uber sweet little motor, money fell out of the project but they still had an engine... Hmm, lets put it in a Taurus and see if it sells....

Pray to GOD that you never ever ever have to work on that engine.

Yes, I take it back
Transverse-mounted Northstar V8 = Satan's ass-tumor

I saw that in SCC. That's pretty cool, but I think I would rather eat hot broken glass with little pieces of dog crap in it than turn a single wrench on that engine.

The motor had a 9000 RPM limit, but the accesories (alt + A/C) caused it to be limited to ~7000

It had a dual-tuned manifold which enabled it to have a very flat double-humped torque curve.

Dyno graph (power to the front wheels)
