Default 3 pics of my new cf hood, keep it or get rid of it?! 56k maybe

whats up guys, well I ordered an oem cf hood but opened the box only to find this, my dad was like just keep it, it will look good. The vents kinda turn me off, and a gaurd at this one gated community I go to a lot actually said... "wow, that looks.. umm, gay" so yeah I wanted to asked him if he was proud that he was a security guard but had to hold back.. anyway, should I keep it or what? I dont have my stock hood anymore so I'd have to trade someone for their oem sonic yellow or oem style cf.. is it worth the trouble, does it look "gay"??

all in all, I'd rather have an OEM style, so if youre interested in a trade PM me.. this hood is in pristine condition, and I'll of course repaint the removable underside of the vents black again.. theyre just screwed in and fall right out

thanks for looking and for your opinions!

-Dylan

i think it looks extremely gay, in fact you are the president of nambla. so why dont you just give me your hood and we'll call it even.

on a serious note, i think it looks badass, what did the security guy drive?

It looks like a nice hood, but I don't like it. And if you keep it, you need a CF scoop ASAP.

It's a nice hood. Especially with a CF scoop. But I think it's a little too aggressive looking for your car. It needs an aggressive kit to match that look (ie chargespeed)

Keep it and get a CF scoop. While you're at it, paint the roof black, shave the antenna and get a CF trunk.

By then you'll effective turn heads with a car that usually turns stomachs.

In all seriousness, it looks great. Congrats dude!

Either OEM style or not you need a CF scoop! Lots of people on this board love that Seibon style of hood, but your car looks a little tame right now to run it... about the same as if you had a huge Chargespeed STI wing on your car at its current state.

thanks everyone for your honest opinions! I'm probably gonna trade it for an OEM style, someone wants this one really bad so thats what I'm gonna do. I agree with everyone on here about it being too aggressive.. plus with an oem, if I ever get sick of the look I can have it painted and it'll look OEM.. thats probably the best.. and dont worry the cf scoop is in the works!

I think its too aggressive for ur car at the moment as well. I'd say keep it, if ur gonna get a Chargespeed or Do-Luck or some other full body kit and maybe a Carbon Fiber Trunk or S202 Carbon fiber wing. And JDM Headlights are always nice,

If u dont go this route, go sell/trade that hood for a OEM style one.

dude, first of all, why do you care what someone else thinks? what you need to do is go take a serious look at your car, and if you think it looks gay, get a different hood. Its that simple, but if you want my opinion, i think it the cf hood is prolly the only cool looking part on the car. why would you buy a yellow car???

id say try to balance the carbon fiber look evenly over the car, and the hood will look like it belongs better. not just a trunk or wing, but something along the bottom like a c/f front lip would help balance the look. but thats just me

kudos to you for not blowing up at the guy. you never know what he/they will do to your car.

i've never really cared for the vents either. should have held out and sent it back instead of mounting it. hindsight and that 20/20 thing.

again, thanks guys for your opinions. if I decide to keep it and balance the cf look out like someone suggested, does anyone make a nice lip similar to the prodrive or OEM style lip in cf?

i actually like it man.....little different taste, but if fits well with the yellow....screw the haters....also, the yellow hood scoop actually looks pretty cool on it, but CF might look better

+1 for originality...

...in my opinion...keep it. get either a version 1 or version 2 sti front lip on there, get the sti grill, get some JDM lights, throw on a matching carbon fiber trunk, carbon fiber hood scoop (which was said to be in the works), and maybe some side strakes...and voala!

...good luck with your route!!! keep up the great work.

While I'm not really a fan of the vent it doesn't look bad. If you like it, keep it. But I would definately punch the guard in the face for the smart ass comment. Nobody asked him!
