Subaru Stars engine shutting down at 3000rpm

I am trying to find out why my 1990 LS is stalling when I am driving at speed of approximately 60 mph or 3000 rpm
The mechanics are all guessing why this is happening and I am desperate to have it fixed.
will some one give me some information on this problem, this is going on since july 04

P S After the car stop then it will start up and run again untill I reached speed of 65 or 3000rpm.I had this car since june 1990 and was purchase new
It was service every 3000 miles todate

Does it stall all the time at that speed?
Can you get it to go faster?

If you say yes to both, I would look at fuel, filter first and pump second.

Does it stall in any gear at that speed?
Can you be stopped and rev above 3000RPM and hold it?

I still say fuel system.

Filter is clogged preventing enough fuel flow to support the RPM or the pump is dying and can't pump enough fuel.

Does your speedometer work? When I first test drove my 1995 L, the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) was broken and the vehicle basically thought it was not moving, so it shut the engine down at ~3000 RPM.
