AC compresser bad?
Not sure if this is the right forum, but looking for help. It's a 02 2.5 Forester S. Today I noticed a strange noise under the hood and power surging w/ ac on. It was kind of a grind/squeel, (think like worn brake pads sound). After about 10 minutes of this w/ the ac on, no more cold air. There is no noise when the ac is off. I looked under the hood and low ac line was hot w/ ac on and the ac belt was turning then stopping intermittently. Any thoughts?

maybe all the freeon leeked out of the condenser
