I'll be attending the Divisionals this weekend in Houston and I need clarification on what class I need to be in. I've been told a couple different things and I'd like to hear from some people who would know.
I've got a WRX, and the only mods I have are Cusco coil-over suspension and a piggyback ECU upgrade from Cobb. I've also got 17x7.5 wheels with 225/45/17 tires if that has any affect. Thanks in advance, Jason

Would that be 'cause of the ECU upgrade? My car against the likes of Chris F's just don't seem very fair to me. I was thinking it would be one of the Street Prepared classes, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something.

I don't believe my car is allowed in STS because of the turbo. I think it goes into Street Prepared once you start modding it.
You're not kidding about unfair. One little flywheel surely does not give you any kind of discernable advantage over other 2.5's, at least not enough to throw you to the wolfs in SM. I do feel your pain, though. What really sucks is that I already got subpreza to get me some numbers and such, and I got ESP. The ECU was a last minute decision while I was at Cobb this morning getting my wheels, and discussing some stuff with Josh, I decided on the ECU to give me some better throttle response and reduce the lag. Man, this stinks ![]() Last edited by Jason_Adams; 08-05-2001 at 12:33 AM. |

Jason,
This is a li'l off topic, but I wanted to know what 17x7.5 rims did you get? I'm getting my SRP WRX this week and have been contemplating upgrading the wheels and tires. Not sure what I'm going to get just yet, but I think 17x7.5 is the best fit for the car. Unfortunately, I just can't seem to find many 17x7.5 ... it seems most everything is 17x7 or 18x7.5. Also, what's the offset, weight, etc.? Many thanks and good luck! |

OK, thanks. Yes, I've seen those at the Cobb Web site. They look nice but if I recall, they weigh 22 lbs. Not super heavy but a li'l heavier than I'd like for 17"
Well, something for me to consider. Thanks for the info. |
