Default Wiring Bi-xenon HID's with Halogen Highbeams

I had a set of E55 Bi-xenon projectors retroed into my stock (halogen) headlamps, results of which can be seen HERE

Usually during the day I run my headlamps off and leave my JDM fogs on. The problem I have is that when I need to highbeam someone during the day, when the HID's are off, if I click on my highbeam switch (pull back on the stalk) it causes not only my halogen highs to come on, but it momentarily switches on the HID's as well (with the solenoid on, making them highs) resulting in a flash of HID that's less than a second long.

Now I know that it is very bad for HID's to be flicked on and off, so my question is the following: Is there a way to wire a relay so that when my headlamps are off, if I flick the highbeam switch, only the halogen highs will come on, and if the lamps are on, the HID's will switch like normal?

As of now the wires for the highbeam solenoid are tapped off the stock highbeam wires, which I think is the source of the problem, my assumption is that when the solenoid wires get power, they also power the ballast and ignite the HID's.

Any help would be appreciated.

there is. you may may need to dig deep in the archives but its there. I know I saw it here once as well as on the scoobymods.com site.

"low beams off, flash to pass mod" I think. at least that should get you in the right direction.

I did it a couple of years ago, and it works.
