Default Bandimere outing - Aug 15th

I dunno how many of you guys drag race, but I'm gonna take my WRX to the track for test 'n' tune on Wednesday the 15th.

I wanna get a couple baseline runs in stock trim then slap the MBC on and see what happens. Would be nice to have a couple more Scoobies come out.

I'm gonna try to get up there around 5pm. Cost is $25

I WILL be there...I wanna settle this stock wrx vs modified N/A RS thing once and for all ! One I've beaten, one I haven't. I gotta find out! I think with a good driver in one, I'd lose. But, we'll see what a nice cool night does . Larry hopes to make it there, too. I want to see his car run.

I'm there to see all this go down. I probably won't run- unless you guys convince me...

Edit:

I just made sure they were open for test and tune on Weds August 15th. They are. Last time Gary and I showed up to be turned away.

Cool.. glad to see I'm not alone. I gotta little grudge match lined up with a fairly modded Pontiac GTP. I'm gonna see if I can outrun him in stock trim, but if not more boost can fix it.

Should be a fun night...

Sounds like a gas!

I have been trying to teach my wife how to launch her car and it seems to be working (she can whip me in her Rex, while I'm in my truck ). I have been dying to see some baseline numbers on both cars and this sounds like a good time to get them.

I live about 4 miles from there, is everyone going to meet at the track?

Might be easier if we all just pit together. Some of us may get their earlier than others.

I'd say lets get some space on the east side of the staging lanes. There is a section of pit space that runs right next to the lanes. The DSM guys are usually there so maybe we can talk some trash to them

Will that work?

Jay -

Sounds good, but I'm not too sure where you're talking about. I've only been up to the pits above and to the west of the lanes...

Spot #3 in the map below. It's usually not too crowded and it's close to all the action. The link below is an informative page for those that have never been to Bandimere before.

Hope that helps.

PS Brat.. it's $8 for spectators

The TEC-II is installed, sans intercooler, meaning its just sitting in my garage. Does anybody want to lend me an old laptop till the 15th so I can tune it? If I get it running right I'll be there.

Dave -

(1) Why is the IC off the car?
(2) What happened to the ebay laptop you bid on?

1) You need to install an intake temp sensor after the IC has cooled the intake charge...so since I don't want a hole in the TB, I'm putting the sensor in the base of the IC.

2) It's still on the way, but the person seems not to be responding to my emails so who knows at this point...at least it was only $100

If you don't get the laptop soon, try http://www.pricewatch.com/1/247/2491-1.htm and be sure the sale is current - they list about 400 refurbished laptops from a variety of vendors
