Default Are the Legacy GT engines EJ25D modules?

I was just wondering because i want to do stuff to my 1998 legacy outback and it has a EJ25D. And I wasn't sure if it's the same in the Legacy Sedan.

Well, if it is an 'o5 Legacy GT then no as that is the EJ257, however if you are comparing a 1998 Outback to a 1998 Legacy GT then yes, identical engine.

The new GT's (2005+) run the semi-closed deck EJ257 short block. Same block as in the USDM STI! mmmm if I could get my hands on one of those...

What about any other years. Or is it just the 98 that are the same.

From what I understand, the only diff in same year lagacygt and outback are the tire height, suspension and drivetrain stuff (trans and rear diff). Engine is supposed to be identical. I guess the ecu would be different cause it has to calculate the different ride height and transmission info. But there are a lot of the same parts shared between ALL the subaru models...
