Dccd or no dccd?
OK, my car will be going for a swap very soon, I was asked by Kevin from garage tuning(great customer service btw) if I want dccd or not, price for it (parts and install) would be around $1000,
if Ill not opt for this, car would be locked at 35/65, so is it even worth installing? or will I be fine with 35/65....Im kinda confused on this, so I wanted to ask the experts PS. I could always install it later, right?

get a JDM 6 speed if you don't want dccd, plus they are better transmissions

From what i've read you can run the DCCD transmission without the wiring and computer to make the DCCD work, all of which can be added later. IMO if your budget allows, get it all done at one time.

The DCCD tranny have a different transfer case in the back vs the non-DCCD tranny. If you don't wire in the controller, it will be an open 35:65 center diff which is probably fine if you don't run into slippery situation or scenario where you would have one of the front wheels off the ground (rear have LSD so it's less of a problem). Having the Electro-Magnetic center diff (which the DCCD uses) would change the handling since the bias is different from the Viscous center diff.

personally i think dccd on daily driven car is a waste of time and money. its a great system but don't use it on anything but very loose surface like snow or gravel. using it on hard grippy surfaces is kinda like towing AWD with a dolly, two wheels on two wheels off is a bad scenario. i'm only now getting into dccd so if i need to be corrected please do so, i'm not one to try and make ppl believe false info.

I'm not sure if it's a waste of time and money - 50:50 split gives that FWD push feeling on power, while the 35:65 split would make it more neutral. Some would argue that unless you're on slippery surface you can go without the controller and just leave the EMCD in open mode - I want my AWD and best if I could have DCCD-A
