wide fender might be replica as well It does exist.
If it was Right Hand Drive, then it's authentic.
I've never seen 22B in North America, yet.
22B has gold BBS rough mesh rims.

I remeber reading a few times that there were 400 original 22Bs made for the JDM, and an additional 26 made for the UK as official imports.

I can account for one in America, the one my jealous ass sat in at an autoX.

It's debateable as to how many 22b's there are in the world.

My understanding is that there were originally 399 manufactured (no #13), of which Colin McRae got #1 and Nicky Grist got #2. There were later 25 more assembled for overseas distributors.

So the total was then 424.

I believed it was...
two number 1s made for the rally drivers...
no number 13
400 jap. spec
26 UK spec (this I know is true)
so 426 total

Well... Okay then

This is Number 133 in the snow...

and this is me mate Harj driving it at Oulton Park in the UK

The Licence plate in that pic is a fake for track days Bull **** Racing team

OBTW

To my knowledge there were 424 made

400 in the original run
16 type Uk

and 8 for the International distributors, which is why the SOA car does not have a number plaque on it.

Mine a Japanese Spec car that has the following mods:

ScoobySport Cibie lights
Scoobysport Downpipe
Link ECU mapped by Bob Rawle ( a living Subaru God )
LambdaLink
KnockLink
AP 330 mm front disks
Defi Guages for Oil temp, Oil Pressure and Boost
PowerStation bumpsteer mod and Geometry setup.. ( NO understeer )

Oh and a BPM twister back box, although I prefer the Scoobysport one

Richard

As I understand it, #13 is the one that SOA has in the US for showing/demonstrating/etc.

what are the specs on the 22b? and why did they make them in the first place? us yankees always get the shaft on good cars do we not?

and evo 7's are ugly compared to evo 6's in my oppinion.

re the #13 car

Seems Subaru did some "strange" things with the numbering of the initial 400 cars. eg there are known to be three cars that bear the 000/400 number plaque. These cars are owned by Colin McRae, Nicky Grist and Dave Richards (head of Prodrive)

Apparently there was no #13/400 as it is considered unlucky. My car is #133/400

The 16 Type UK cars all have a seperate numbering system 1/16, 2/16 etc

The eight cars that were produced for the International distributors, SOA etc do not have plaques.

Now the interesting question with the SOA car is will they be exporting it or crushing it!!! Under the NHTSA rules they can only have it in here for a limited time. 5 years if I remember correctly

*edit* it was Dave Lapworth, Technical Director of Prodrive not Dave Richard

While not official word by any means, the mechanic at SOA who takes care of it (gets to play with it!) said they will be putting it on display, possibly in a museum, but not leaving the country. He isn't a suit though, so cows may have been flying out of his butt.

I read the same thing while ago. The 22B in US will be crushed. And IIRC, the one in US was #13.
Is it still alive or ceased already? I wonder where it is at.
There's a picture in gallery section of i-club.

So, if lucky #13 is slated to be crushed, how many NESIC freaks would be up for some black ops in the vicinity of Cherry Hill the week before she goes to the scrap heap?

Not that I'm advocating anything...

But it would be a shame for that thing to end up in a junkyard...

I would be very surprised at that as the NHTSA rules and the Act of Congress introducing the Show and Display rules is very specific on this for manufacturers bringing cars in for research / demonstration.

The vehicle must either be re-exported or crushed..

The latter of course would be a very sad end for that car.
