I do plan on going.

I'll be back almost a full two weeks from the land of the Rising Sun, so my jet lag should be gone and i might have a few dollars.

We need to reprazent!

Oh, and i just did register under "Race Team" as Team ARG!

What days are we going? Thursday-Sunday again?

I'm all over it. I love SEMA! Good idea to register as Team ARG! I shall do the same. I would be up for going down there Thursday through Sunday again. I say we stay closer to the strip though. Preferably walking distance from the show. I know Sahara is walking distance and cheap. Mini wants to fly in for the show. I say someone else takes care of the hotel this year, I did it last year. And I would rather not have 10 people in one room again unless it is a huge room like last time. I will keep an eye out for deals on rooms. I got stuff from the stratosphere for that week, but it wasn't that great of a price and it is a very ghetto hotel.

I'm definintely going to SEMA/meet this year too. Last year was fun and this year should be better. I will be flying out, of course.
give me a time frame so I can get plane tickets now. Lets get reservations know so we will have a closer hotel.

That's a good idea to register as Team ARG! I'll do that tomorrow.

Hey Scoobyslack, if they have an autocross, I'll let you co-drive if we have time before your plane would leave.

Hey, this sounds good already.

I agree that the Franky Furlong's Motel and Casino that we stayed at last year was just way too far away from the strip.

If we can find a non-ghetto place with some kinda special, i'm willing to fork out the extra ducats for that.

Glad to see you're coming ScoobySlack1, we'll be able to have the "Alan with Booth Babes Vol 2"

When were you guys thinking of heading out? I'm pretty sure I want to head out there on Nov 1st so I can get settled in the night before. It would suck getting up at 2am to drive out to Vegas and catch the breakfast meet. The only other hotel I can comment on is the MGM Grand and that one is kinda ghetto too. The rates are somewhere around $100 a night on the weekends for a small, 2 bed, room. It also takes 20 minutes to walk to the pool.

I do agree that it sucked being far away from the strip. It was kinda freaky paying for a parking garage on the strip and seeing a bunch of guys climbing all over some guys car, trying to get him to get out of the car.

I will probably wait until Simon says where we can get some discounted rates at and then decide.

Yeah, I was actually looking at those this morning. I needed a new pic for my wallpaper.

I'm going to try to hold my own against the RX-7 & 300ZX again this sat.

I definitely want to go out on Thursday morning. I would like to leave here about 6:00 a.m. so we could get into Vegas in time to spend a little time at the show Thursday.

I checked Yahoo travel and we could do Sahara for $80 per night or Stratosphere for $50 per night. Also, I have been told if you call and reserve the Hilton a month or more in advance there is saves a ton. We stayed at the Hilton on the way home from the Pro Solo in Irvine. It was a very nice hotel, with really nice rooms.

Your best bet is to use Priceline.com. I Just got back from NYC and I got a room at the Mariott World Trade Center in Manhattan for $85.00 a night. NICE ROOM TOO. Reg rates on their web site for the room was $275 a night. (If you know NYC then you know that $200+ is about norm for Manhattan.
Also Check out the Motel 6 on Tropicana. It is around the corner from the MGM Grand. Its nice, clean, no big frills, but its half a block from the strip. I might consider going down too if nobody minds, just give me the info...

Thats a bummer deal Larry, I was hoping to see you and your car there.

I remember the motel 6 by MGM. It is a very good location in relation to the strip. We could probably get decent rates there. IIRC, Simon has some sort of membership discount card that we used last year for hotel rates. We might want to wait to see if he's doing something like that again this year.

I'll see what I can do - I'd have to drive there, don't know that I could leave on Thursday Morning because my wife works on Thursday and I watch the kids till 6 pm. If I was flying I could make it, but may not have money left for a plane, after the Disney Trip...

I could take Friday through Sunday off, but would have to be back Sunday night. Seems like a tight timeframe for a 1,200 mile drive!

You could meet up w/some of the Orlando people while your there, that might make up for missing the Vegas meet.

Unhappy

My wife will have me in the doghouse for sure if I try to dilute my family vacation with a Florida subie meet

I'm already stretching the boundaries of reason by bringing my pocket PC/pocketnet phone to process orders from my website while we are gone!

Larry. Watch where you step

There will be atleast one caravan, possibly two. It depends how many people can make the same caravan time. Last year we had two different groups go out at two different times. I'm thinking I will be able to go down with the first group on Sunday morning. I don't know about the rest.
