Take both the cruise and throttle cable off the throttle body. Sounds like you kinked the cable and is putting tention on the. Make sure the throttle body is completely closed.

i had similar problem when i installed my CAI, i ended up having some materials stuck in my thorrtle body though, which i got rid of.

That was you first mistake. It's easier to drop the tranny to get too the clutch.

Next time you try and do a clutch on your impreza, and pull the engine foward be sure to disconnect the throttle cable. I did my clutch just like you did: by using a cherry picker and pulling the engine foward. When everything was put back together it ran fine.

If I don't have a lift I just put the car on jacK stands and use a floor jack to lower it down and put it back up. Axles will slide off as you work the tranny back and down.

I did, we just routed it wrong. Its all good now though.
