Default Possible Subie minivan in the works!

Automobile News has an article today stating that Subaru may be considering a minivan! Unfortunately it requires a subscription to link the article. Does anyone here have access to AN?

I got this in my e-mail this morning, and this is all I know:

Fuji mulls Subaru minivan to be sold in U.S.
Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. may build a Subaru minivan for sale in global markets, including the United States.

And while you're there, could you pull down this story, too?

Subaru plans better dealerships
Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (Subaru) plans to expand the number of exclusive dealerships, open larger stores and boost sales volume per outlet. The company will focus its marketing energy in the Sunbelt. SUB or BUY

I'd buy a Subaru minivan over a Tribeca any day of the week. As long as it were AWD and lighter than the Tribeca.

I do hope if Subaru has a minivan, it will not be a rebadged GM minivan.

You could be right about both statements.

I would expect it to be longer but still AWD so probably heavier. Maybe also a few inches wider and less ground clearance. Hopefully less "upscale" than the Tribeca and cheaper.

Just FYI, "Exiga" was an early attempt at a 7-seat wagon/suv crossover. This led to the WX-01 which ultimately became the Tribeca.

As to looks, here the front doesn't look that bad; probably because it actually fits the overall shape/dimensions/character and is integrated into the vehicle--instead of just being slapped onto the Impreza, where its Snout is two sizes too big.

Plus, it's a *sketch*, and things always look better drawn than in real life.

I like the concept pics posted by NYCshopper. The concept car is a bit small, but expand the scale of that shape and then you might have something there. You all realize this has got to be big, not Mazda MPV size, but full on Grand Caravan, Sienna, Odyssey, Quest sized. It doens't even begin to make sense unless they are planniing on a full size minivan.
