Default Battery Relocation?

So I have the need to relocate my battery to the trunk to accommodate some upcoming mods. Who's done it and what all is involved?

How much of a pain in the ass is it?
What gauge wire did you use?
Did you install a disconnect?
What about a large inline fuse?
Did you run the wires inside the passenger compartment or along the undercarriage?

I would use two large fuses, the first about a foot away from the actual battery and the second where the OEM wire meets the wire that will run to the trunk. Donít go with a fuse that is too big because it wonít do any good. I think when I looked into doing this I was looking at fuses in the 100 to 120 range.

Its not too bad really. just takes time. I used 2awg wire. What do you mean a disconnect? I have two inline fuses of a 100 amps. one at battery connector and one at the fused junction box it runs too. i ran it inside just like an amp power cable. under all the carpet and seats.

Thanks for the feedback allÖ

Some tracks/strips require a battery quick disconnect when the batts been relocated from the factory location. Basically a high-amp switch like THIS

I see no reason to have that disconnect. if you have a fuse at least at the battery connector you should be safe. if that line shorts anywhere the fuse at teh connector will blow and cut power at the battery.

Oh I see...with the integrated fuse, those are sweet. I imagine they can be found at any performance audio shop?
