Default Help!!! Boost gauge fitment

Someone please help an ignorant newbie!!!

I decided to install my vdo vision gauge over the weekend. It consisted of the boost gauge, and the tubing kit that everyone had recommended. After countless hours of memorizing the instructions I think the "hard" part of the install went fairly well! I tested the electrical connection (it dimmed), and the T-piece had good fitment. The only PITA was removing the steering wheel cover (I thought I was going to snap the two long pieces in half).

Now here's the issue. How the heck do I fit the 1/8" nylon tubing onto the boost gauge itself? The manual refers to the "vacuum" gauge setup as requiring a 1/8" nipple adapter (Xciting...), but the nylon tubing kit doesn't come with one. It only comes with the "pressure" gauge setup brass adaptors and a test fit of these would make the setup protrude out of the mounting cup. I am at wit's end (especially since I lost the mounting cup instructions.) I know many people have done a similar gauge install...

Can you help a fellow scoobie out?

Thanks
