Unhappy Please to help me recover my HDD!

I accidentally erased the partition on my harddrive and I need to recover my data. I know it's all there because I d/l'd virtuallab and it found over 8000 files, all in their proper folders. Even so, they want me to pay (at least) $120 to recover it now! Freeware my arse! What freeware be there to do the job that's REALLY free??!!

You might be able to recover it with a bootable Linux CD like Knoppix (free).

this is the only freeware that I know of. I recovered a few files with it before but never a whole HDD. Try it out.

Huzzah! The ultimate boot cd had a utility called TestDisk on it. It looked for the missing partition, told windows it was there now, and windows believed it!

IMHO $120 to be guaranteed to get all your data back is a bargain.
