1993 impreza RALLY

Default Building a bullet proof n/a short bloc

hi everyone

i'm racing a 1993 impreza that as a few mod on it. i race in the canadian rally championship doing around 3 to 4 races a years.

first i've install a 1999 forester 2.5 single cam complet mechanic last winter. i have install a p-flow air intake, tech work stage 1 racing cam, 14 pounds flywheel and stage 1 exedy organic clutch kit. i have a borla style headers and random tech hi-flow cat. ( my cat is 8 in from the end of my headers ) and only have a resonator at the end of my 2.5 in exhaust line. to complet this set up smt6 ecu piggy back device from perfect power.

until a few week ago i tought that this set up would be good enough for rally purpose ( until i blew my bloc, 3 rd connecting rod went thru the bloc leaving a 5 inch hole in the bloc right under the trottle ).
i have found a short bloc to replace this one but i'm thinking about upgrading this bloc so i don't have to rebuilt my motor every race

here's what i want to know...
is there anyone here that have built a n/a motor with froged crank, connecting rod and piston?

does anyone know some place where i could find affordable forged parts?

thx
