All sorts of things are starting to go wrong. I only have 25,000 miles and the only mod is an STI cat back. The A/C went out a trip to Houston. All the pipes iced up, once it thawed out it now cycles between cold air and outside air. Also it's starting to grind going into 4th about 30% of the time. The worst thing is I have had a creaking /groan in my suspension which I have taken into Subaru of Austin 6 times and they can't fix it. I'm going to see the district manager on Monday to "discuss" the suspension.
If it's having this many problems with only 25k on it, what’s it going to be like with 60k+ ??? They have also had to replace the clutch cylinder, fixed the accelerator pedal that was flapping around when you pressed on it, the plastic under the car also fell off, and finally the bezel on the inside of the car is starting to change color. Is this normal? Is everyone else having these annoying problems? Does the suspension fall under the lemon law?

Why did you make two threads on the same topic?
Need more information. Did you purchase it used? What is your driving style? Nothing sounds serious to me and definitely doesn't fall under the lemon law. |

They can't fix the suspension, or they can't duplicate the problem with the suspension. There is a difference.
As stated already this is not a case for Lemon law. Grinding going into gear? Do you have synthetic gear lube in there? If so you brought this upon yourself. If not this may be related to the clutch slave cylinder (damage done prior, just now showing up) A.C issue? IIRC there was a tech tip (or maybe a bulletin I can't remember) in regards to the lines freezing up. I believe the fix was to install a different thermal switch on the evaporator. Last edited by Hondaslayer; 06-24-2005 at 12:35 PM. Reason: Did not catch the slave cylinder having been replaced. |

BTW the underguard falling off was probably due to the people that changed your oil not tightening the bolts down.

Plastic bezel being discoloured is due to interior cleaner overspray.

FYI - according to my dealer there are "upgraded" parts available for the fourth gear syncro. When I complained of a defective first gear syncro in my 2002, the service tech also noticed grinding in fourth. The syncros on first and fourth were replaced under warranty.
A groaning suspension and discoloration on the interior bits is par for the course. You bought a Subaru, not a Mercedes. Frankly, even if you had bought a Mercedes, you might still be having these types of issues. FWIW, my last two cars (honda and BMW) had inferior build quality as compared to my WRX when it came to suspension bits and the Honda was much worse in terms of the interior. When meeting with the district manager, remember to be cordial and professional. State only facts, and don't go in with a chip on your shoulder. This approach is best for everyone involved, and will definitely yield the best results for you. Good luck! |

LCD burnt out. I have seen that a few times. Did it come with the car? Or was it installed after you took delivery? |

I currently have 108k on my wrx and sure it squeaks and rattles a little but its expected. I have had a couple problems with my AC but other then that no major repairs. I had the clutch and the fuel line TSB's done on it. Other then that its a good car. By the way I'm also running a stage 4 (equivilent) setup.
I'm sorry that your car is a piece of junk. I hope you can get it fixed before the warranty is over. |

3 years, 25,000 miles, that's your problem right there.
I had the AC problem and they fixed it the first try. As far as the suspension noise, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, there is nothing wrong with the car. |
