Yes, but we have an electronic thermostat. We let it get warmer in the house during the day, but not too hot.

Well my cat must be a dummy, cuz she purposefully stays in the warmest room of the house - my computer room is always 5+ degrees warmer than the rest of the house. Also the cool tiles in the bathroom would keep her cool, but she never lies down on them.

Yesterday was very warm and I was gone all day - when I got home at 9:30 at night, it was around 87 degrees in my condo. I left one fan on to keep her cool, but I get the feeling that she never stayed in front of it. Silly cats.

I keep the a/c on to keep the house cool, our lower level is always cool, which is where they stay when we are not home.

I prefer to have the windows open when we are home, and its not UBER hot. I work in factory where i sweat all night, so prefer fresh air and cool air when i am home.

If my cat can survive living outside, he can also live with the AC off, but i leave the AC at 78 all day every day. About 85 if we're going to be gone for a long time.

Hmm... as a kid I put my 20 gallon fish tank on top of an old fashioned radiator (in April). Around October, I suddenly had fish stew! They were pretty hardy pond goldfish, so I only lost one of 'em. Tough feesh.

^^ well it's easy to get rid of a dead fish than a dead cat or dog - cats or dogs tend to clog up the toilet.

I had no idear what a sugar glider was - then I hit up Google. Damn, those things are freaky looking. Aren't you afraid of those big black eyes?? Looks like a Gremlin had some unprotected whoopie with a squirel.

So are they related to squirels or gerbils? Easy to take care of? I think I want another pet - another cat would be cool, but trying to keep my options open.

has one of your couches been completely overtaken by the dog? and does the cat meow all night untill you let him into your room, after which he jumps onthe bed and takes up most of the foot of it? :-\

They are marsupials, from Australia. They are related to the kangaroo and opossum. Not hard to take care of at all, they chill in a big bird cage, and come out to play at night. If you have a spare bedroom, you could play with them whenever you like, just close the door so they don't get away.
