Default 91ss electrical problem

i have a 91ss 5speed 147k and it has a weird problem. when i first got it it had a weird hesitation, i changed plugs, wires, iac valve, fuel filter, maf sensor, air cleaner and everything else i could think of. one day i got the bright idea to clean the battery terminals and charge the battery. after i did that the car ran great for a few hours, then the hesitation came back, so i swapped alternators and batteries and that didn't help. i think i have some electrical issue, when you rev the car and let it go back down to idle if you hit the brake, the time on the stereo blinks or dims, i think the alternator is putting a drag on the engine, anyone got this problem or a solution? thanks damon.

There's a second ground you probably can't see that is under the intake manifold for the wiring harness...

hey damon,

i think that ground wire is bolted into the block, right about where the engine meets the tranny, it might be a little more foward, but thats where mine was for my 1.8 and 2.5.
Also side note, dont know the condition, but tyler just got a 92 SS for 100 bucks back home for him in petersburg, has a blown trans, thats it though....

My 91 SS does this also. It runs well usually, but has a rough/low idle when warm.

Try cleaning all of the ground points on the chasis, their is one behind the right hand shock tower, one on either side of the engine on the fram, you just need to look at the frame beside the engine block, it's a bitch to get at. I think that's it, but I may be wrong. Undo all of these points, including the bolt to the altanator, and clean them back to shinny metal.. It made a huge difference in my SS.,
