Default car bucking and surging, o2 sensor? cel = p1137

On my way home from work on friday my rs started surging on the interstate. My radio started fading in and out and the car would hardly keep speed. i turned off the interstate, and at about 35mph or so, the car starting bucking like i dumped on the clutch on it. I pulled over, let it sit for a few minutes, then drove the next half mile home.

I didnt have a cel on? but i decided to check if there were codes anyway. I had a p1137, which wasnt in my book of codes, but I think it is some sort of front O2 sensor code. I then reset my ecu and my car has been fine.

However, knowing that these cars have problems with the 02 sensors, I went to subaru and bought a new front A/F sensor. The car is fine now and no more codes after driving it 100 miles.

Do you think the problem is the front o2/ A/F sensor? Anyone else have this problem?

ah, its a 2000 RS

We also pulled the plugs after all this happened, they looked white, that means the car is also running lean. However, there are no misfire codes and I havent heard any knock.

i have no input other than: my front o2 sensor is out (p1130) when i had someone check it they also cleared it. it took 180 miles for the thing to come back on. so drive another 100 or so and see if it comes back.

check your ignition coil pack. It seems a common enough failure and has those symptoms. There is a check procedure in the FSM.

FWIW...

Google says: P1137 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 2 Lean System or Low Voltage

that from a gm/buick car site: http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/dtcobd2p.html

This from another google, this time a subaru site: P1137 Front oxygen (A/F) sensor circuit range/performance problem
