port matching sohc 2.5 N/A heads?

I will be replacing my head gaskets on my 2000 2.5rs this weekend and sence the heads, intake manafold and TB will be out I was going to do some port matching and genral cleaning up.
I was wondering who has port matched heads of simmular casting? I am worried about taking too much off and getting cracks thru to the water jacket. How much should i take off? Would I be able to port match the intake and exhaust with no issues?.
Please some one let me know.. I would hate to take off too much and wreck my heads!.

use your gasket to determinate the maximum size of porting... place it over your heads use some spray pait and there you go. the same process can be done with the intake. this is the best way of not removing to much.

Don't waste your time or effort. The gains, if any will be minimal. 90% of the gains to be had with headwork is from working the valve seat.

Instead, spend a little extra money to get the thin .027 Cometic metal headgaskets and bump your CR to 11.4:1. That got me +/-15whp. You gains will be less if you don't have cams, but you will still see some gains...

sure, Ill throw on a set of those too.. I would just feel better reaming every thing out.
where can i get a set of thouse gaskets?
