Default New wheels for me

Picking them up next wednesday from my friend Christina. Her RS in the background just got treated to some new wheels. I test fitted them yesterday.

$300 for all four and 3 week old snow tires. Tires are hancook, or hannover something like that. Supposed to be really nice directionals.

Dang.

I wish I could find a set of RS alloys when I had money.....

As it stands, I just painted my spare set of stockers.

Here are some pics (click the thumbnail for larger image):

lookin' good.
IMHO, next to 98 goldies, the 6 spoke RS wheel is the best stock wheel subaru ever made.
They look great on every car.

how easy is it to paint a set of rims?? I have a set of 17" OZ Cronos in silver that I'd like in a darker colour. I supposed you'd have to sand the buggers down first, but any special paint to use?

They're not bad, but doing it right and just doing it are two different things. I've done a few sets well and they look great, I've gone quick on a few sets and they look so-so. I have access to air tools so it's a little quicker, but basically you want to at least scuff the paint that is on there, clean them very well, then use a decent paint (there are spray bomb wheel paints out there that work pretty well). Use primer, paint and clearcoat.
