theres a black box behind the wheel and i dont really know what is. 05 WRX

I'm pretty sure it is a charcoal box and is part of the evap system to trap fuel vapors.

i can agree, it has a few plugs going in to it, but why is it on the passenger side rather closer to the exhaust pipe?

...the exhaust goes the OTHER way......and it IS right below the filler....NO????

isnt that the new black box the govt is putting in vehicles so they can keep an eye on what your doing and if your in an accident they can see all the telemetry from the car's involved.

Fuel vapor recovery box. Mine got relocated slightly when the trailer hitch was installed.
