Default WTT: turboxs axle back for quiet axle back

Tonight I had the stock axle back put on my car and I absolutely love it. For performance reasons I can't keep it on very long so I am looking to trade my turbo xs axle back section which is a 4" tip for any single or dual tip axle back that sounds close to stock, such as a borla. I'd like to do this soon if anyone is interested. Let me know. I'm located in Milwaukee WI.

My biggest question is will it flow as much as a borla or prodrive axle back? I'm really looking for something that will flow like mine but without the sound. Right now the txs is just a wide open muffler whereas an sti one has resenators and other air flow restirctors doesn't it? My car is fairly modded and I need something that won't restrict the exhaust.

You're giving in, too, Steve? I never heard your car with the RFL, but I'm sure it must have sounded sweet. You might want to consider keeping it around for track days when you need the flow.

Yeah it sounded sweet but I don't know, sometimes it just seems so loud to me, like when I'm driving the car. That is why I only want a different one if it will flow just as good but with a little different design/noise. I don't want like an sti axle back or anything because obviously that is full of restrictors. We'll see, I'm keeping my options open.

Steve is that stocker leaking at the intermediate pipe? Let me know if everything is working as it should.

I have the STi axelback, I think it sounds great. I always thought it was a straight through design but I could be wrong... Someone want to clear this up?

Doesn't seem to be leaking, I don't hear anything that would indicate a leak. It sure drives a lot different with that section on there. I guess if the sti is a straight through design then it would work fine, but if that is the case why are the prodrives and borlas like 500 for the same section and essentially the same design?

Beacuse the STi is made by Subaru. It says "STi" So they can charge alot more and require your first born. I got lucky and bought mine from a member here at a really good deal a while back.

So far I have offers for the sti and the bosal dual tip. I actually read somewhere that the bosal is loud as hell. If the sti is straight through maybe I'll take up this guy on his trade. I just want to confirm if that is the case first.

Same here, Stage four and the STi axel back and no problems at all.

I bought my STi from you! That deserves a banana.

Bananas everywhere!

Anyway, Bill, I will be done with yours this weekend and I'm going ahead with the sti axle back. The guy is going to swap them out so I can drop your section back off to you in a few days. Thanks for letting me use it, I go to court tomorrow.

Default Transcript from exhaust ticket dispute

I got to the court house and met with the city attorney who turned out to be one of the most attractive women I've ever seen, but that probably didn't have any bearing on the outcome. She said since I got it fixed she would reduce it to "sign compliance failure" which is 0 points and keeps the fine of $102. However it is ultimatley up to judge so here goes:

Judge: Stephen, please check in. *Looks at ticket and reduction by city attorney* Ha, well I don't think so. Modified exhaust and especially on a *looks for car make on ticket, assuming somthing like mustang or corvette* a suburban?

Me: No your honor, Subaru.

Judge: Subaran?

Me: Subaru your honor.

Judge: Oh, Subroo. It says here defendant got arguementative and said it is not illegal where I come from.

Me: Your honor, I told him I drive past my city police station everyday and have never been stopped for my exhaust.

Judge: Is there a full moon?

Me:...

Judge: Is there still people looking for comets out in space?

Me:...

Judge: Who cares, who cares?

Me:...

Judge: Oh, you got it changed. Amend to 0 points. You are dismissed.

So I had to pay the fine which is probably what I would have had to pay a traffic lawyer anyway so it is about even. I'm just glad I got the points dropped. The judge was a complete knob though so I would advise everyone to never break the law in Brookfield. His analogies are horrible and he is just an ass.

I guess he was trying to say that it doesn't matter if I've never been pulled over before or something to that affect, which he could have come out and said. I don't know if they are all like this, but he is on a microphone and everyone can hear your punishment. One guy had a drug charge and it was a $5000 fine. I'll stick with $102.
