Default SOLO II Championship #5 / Bear Paw - Saturday July 16

Copied and pasted from http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/...64760345294348

Note that this event is on SATURDAY! This competition coincides with the Bear Paw Festival held this weekend in Eagle River and is hosted by the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce.

Fifth of a series of 7 Championship Events this season. This is our first competition at Chugiak this year so come check out the 'new' venue!

Registration is $25 for SCCA club members and $30 for non-members, plus applicable myautoevents.com processing fees. Lunch is $5, payable at the registration desk at the event. You may bring your own lunch, of course. Those who pre-register here must still check in at the registration desk to sign the waiver form. The deadline for pre-registering is 8:00pm Alaska Time, Friday, July 15.

For this event we are doing a special club-type invite for all Corvette owners. This means if you have a Vette then you get the lower member rate of $25 for this event only. There is a special payment option listed for this so please use that option.

It is important to arrive well BEFORE 10:00am. You must be able to park, empty your car, jaw with your neighbor, and get to registration BEFORE 10:00. Those folks who pre-register here can also get through registration a little quicker which means more time to walk the course!

You must wear a helmet. Loaner helmets are available for free for the first few events but after that we will charge $10 for the loaners, so you are encouraged to buy your own helmet. Ask us about helmet requirements and recommendations.

A Novice Program will teach the basic ins and outs of autocrossing.

9:00 Registration Opens - Tech Inspection Opens
10:00 Registration Closes. <-That is a PERIOD!
10:10 Tech Inspection Closes
10:15 Novice Meeting - Optional
10:40 Safety Orientation - Mandatory if this is your 1st event this season
11:00 Drivers Meeting
11:15 Grid up and first car takes off.
1:00ish Lunch
4:00ish Help pick up cones and start bench racing

Event Location - Chugiak High School, 16525 S Birchwood Loop Road

*On a related note, I learned that they're looking for folks to judge at the car show. If you're interested, PM me and I'll see if I can find out more.*

And, just for clarification, the Sally Rally is a road rally, not a rallycross.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yes, very true..

It is a road rally, not a rally cross. Therefore it is a more leisurely paced day, unless you get lost, then its hectic. As Kevin says... perfect time to say "make a left, right?"

Default Car Show Judges Needed - Friday 15th

http://www.alaskascca.com/ipw-web/bu...opic.php?t=410

Copied from the above link-

Quote:
Its time for the 2005 Bear Paw Car Show. The car show will be at the Valley River Mall parking lot and will begin at 6 PM on Friday 7/15. This year the car show is running under the name of Hog Wild. In the past the AAR SCCA has provided the judges and handed out the trophies for the car show and this year is no different. The Car show will have ten different catergories:
Best Truck Best Competition Vehicle Best Motorcycle Best Street Machine Best Street Rod
Best Sports Car Best Import Best Stock Pre 1948 Best Stock Post 1948 Miss Bear Paw and Ambassadors Award.

I am looking for judges for the car show and with a name like Hog Wild there are liable to be a lot of motorcycles so an interest in motorcycles would also help. I already have a few who have volunteered to be judges but I need at least 8 or 9 more. We have judging forms already prepared so that part is easy, the hard part is for those of you who volunteer to be judges to meet me at Garcia’s at 3 PM on Friday 7/15 for dinner/snack/drinks (on me) and discussion of how the judging will be run.

So if you are interested please contact me at 276-0521 (wk) 745-5496 (hm) or email me at gt40shelby@hotmail.com. I would like to have all the judges lined up by Monday so I can tell if I have to go looking outside SCCA to get this done. To those of you who have already volunteered – thank you and to the rest who are considering it, what are you waiting for?

Thanks again

Dave Oliver
Assistant RE & Bear Paw Car Show Host

For those of you who don't know, the Valley River Mall is in Eagle River and is very close to Garcia's so you don't have far to wander after imbibing.
Just passing the word on...

Sleeping one off, Jerry?

Good day, had 8 runs. The first 4 runs, we took the course one way, the last 4 runs we did the course the other direction.

We were missing some of the Subaru regulars, but a couple old schoolers showed up.
