Default Greddy Evo2 = Made in ?

Does anyone have an answer to this. I searched the board and the web and couldn't find anything.

Thanks in advance,

hmmm, I thought that it might be. But, I have a suspicion that it's made somewhere else. Usually real JDM performance parts will always mention that they are "made in Japan" as part of their advertising to convince ppl that it's a quality product. But I've never seen an ad in which a merchant mentions that Greddy exhausts are made in Japan. What do you guys think?

some people think that build quality is more than just a trend and that you should only get parts made in a certain country or whatever.

the reality is that everything has a failure rate and it's better to get a part that is solidly garunteed or at least cheap enough to replace than it is to spend lots of money importing things from places you have a 'feeling' about but no actual hard evidence that your part is of any higher quality than one made more locally.

i don't know where greddy evo 2's are made, but i seem to recall that they were not made in japan.

a good place to ask would be:

GREDDY PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS
9 Vanderbilt, Irvine CA 92618
Tel: (949) 588-8300 FAX (949) 588-6318
info@greddy.com
www.greddy.com

www.trust-power.com

if no one on here can give you a solid answer.

if i were you, i'd get the exhaust you want and not worry about where it's made as long as it's a strongly backed company with good customer service. for that much money, you'd better be getting that kind of backing.

I have no problem w/ the exhaust being made here in the US or Japan. I was just curious to see where it came from. From the way most aftermarket exhaust for subaru's are marketed it would seem that a "Made in Japan" product would be more desirable. I will admit that I am biased towards expecting expensive items for my cars to come from Japan or Germany. From my experience w/ electronics, such as cameras and car parts, I've gotten superior quality and duribility from items made in japan.

On a side note, I'm sure glad that my car is made in Japan. I feel that even though my car was made in late 2000 it has held up better than my dad's ford explorer that was made in 2002. I do not mind giving credit where credit is due, so IMO thumbs up to subaru's made japan.

If the Greddy Evo2 were made here in the US, if would be nice to see a "Made in USA" stamp on the metal or mentioned as part of advertisment description of the exhaust. Unless the ppl at Greddy would see this as a deterent for potential customers. I've always heard from glancing conversations that the USA had very good steel metal.

Regarding the exhaust, I picked up an used evo2 yesterday from a club member and installed it on my car today.

I've got the evo2 as well, it sounds pretty nice!

I'm not sure how much assembly goes on at the Greddy place in cali, as far as I know, its just a distribution center. Which means everything is manufactured by Trust over in Japan.

Let's just say I'm very happy w/ the purchase price. The seller was a really nice guy and I bought something from him b4. B/c I'm local I picked up my exhaust at Aerosim research in Costa mesa CA saving myself shipping.

when a part is JDM, that does not mean said part was made in Japan. For example the USDM STi; Made in Japan, sold in the US.

Every Greddy exhaust is made in Japan. period. Infact no part from Greddy is made in the US.
