Default It finally happens ... (I think!)

Although I've been making a post here or there the past month, I really haven't felt like part of the crowd because I didn't have a Soobie!

Well, tomorrow (or today, really) should change that. Unless something unforeseen occurs, I will be up at the dealership making a down payment and driving off in my Sedona Red Pearl WRX Sedan with m/t. I can't wait! It's going to be a long night, that's for sure.

The dealership told me the car is <b>s'pozed</b> to arrive tomorrow morning. With my luck, I fear it won't but I guess I should be more positive ... haha.

Anyway, I will post more later and perhaps a pic, although I'm sure you've all see a SRP WRX by now.

Cheers!

darrelltx (happy cuz he soon will finally be able to list his car in the left-most column)

Glad to hear the good news! Be sure to be careful on the break-in. It's a pain in the a$$, but well worth it!

Default argggh!!!

Well, since nothing in life seems to go my way, of course the car didn't arrive today. So I haven't signed any paperwork and I still don't have the car.

Getting very sick of this ...

Default Gillman sucks

Well, the dealership (Gillman of Austin) backed out today. Some BS about the sales manager's manager nixing the deal because it was too good of a deal. Whatever that means. Although it was verbal and non-binding, they agreed to it and backed out shamelessly (my guess is someone willing to pay more expressed an interest in buying). More on that later.

In the meantime, I actually had a better offer from the Fort Worth dealership so I accepted it. The reason I accepted Gillman's offer instead was because the Fort Worth car had a couple of options I didn't want/need (like the titanium shift knob, auto-dimming mirror and armrest extension). This car is on the truck and in transit (as of Tuesday), so I should have the car by later today or Friday.

I'm not buying the car locally, but I still have to get it serviced locally, right? Well, this is where Gillman's <B>$h!++y</B> tactics come back to haunt them. I will NEVER have them service my car or do anything with my car. Thankfully, there is another dealership here in town (Austin Subaru) and I will go to them or travel to Fort Worth if the issue isn't pressing. I've talked with Myron Remington at Austin and although their pricing scheme isn't very aggressive, he's been upfront, honest and consistent. I can not say the same for Gillman of Austin (or Houston! long story about them, too!).

Anyway, I'm thinking of creating another thread once I have my car to warn people from Gillman. They reneged on a deal with me to make a few hundred bucks (if even that much), but in the long run it will cost them a great deal more than that. Not only do they lose my immediate business, but they lose my residual business (as I said, I won't have them service my car EVER) and I hope some i-clubbers read this and Gillman loses THEIR business, as well.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your encouraging comments!

I had a silver wagon on order from Gillman and they weren't very accurate with their delivery schedule and one of the salesmen was kinda a pompus a$$. So the day before, I call Huffines, reserve a silver wagon, the next day at 9am, I cancel my Gillman order and drive 3 hours to Lewisville

I was very satisfied with the service while I was there at Huffines, but I did have a slight issue with the license plates just the past couple days. My temp tag expired the 1st, and instead of just sending me another paper plate, they said "it's got for another 5 days". Well, 5 days passed... and then finally yesterday I got the real tags.

And if Leah or Chris is reading this... sorry for being a little pissy hahahaha

And yes, Austin Subaru will be getting my service, and my WRX in a couple weeks for the 3000 mile checkup!

Default Hey Darrell......

...call West Houston Subaru, besides the fact that they could give you a good deal they have the best service department in the world....with the best mechanic you can get (Chuck), that is very important!!

I live in Houston and I had to buy my car at Gillmann Austin

Ask for Adam, Phone 281-589-8990, tell him Andres sent you, if he cannot help you , nobody can.

Andres

Andres,

Thanks for the tip.

I spoke with somebody from West Houston Subaru earlier in the week. His name started with an 'A,' so it may have been Adam but I thought it was Allan. I'm not sure. Anyway, the guy was very polite and professional, but unfortunately they informed me that they couldn't come close to some of the other offers I'd had so that was that.

I'm very happy with the deal I've accepted from the Fort Worth dealership. Hopefully, I'll have the car today or tomorrow and maybe even some pics, although you've all seen SRP WRX sedans by now so it "ain't no thang!"

Cheers!

Default yeah, Gillman sux

Get it serviced at Austin Subaru. I only bought from Gillman because the salesman would not let me test drive the car at Austin Subaru. His loss, because he had the exact car I wanted sitting there. I called the sales manager and told him I got another care elsewhere.

Gillman played all the silly negotiating games that everyone hates. Even called me to come back so they could "start the negotiation over from the beginning." LOL

Hey, thanks for the info. Read my new thread entitled, "It's official!"

I will probably have the car serviced by Austin Subaru. Myron Remington and the staff there have been very polite and professional. When I can, I'm going to take it to Fort Worth because Scott Smith has really been that good to me.

Hope to see you around town. I'm still giddy and gushing. *grin* The euphoria will wear off after a while, I guess, but every time I look out the window and I see my red beauty sitting there, I crack this ridiculous grin. I can't help it!!

Cheers!
