Question Slight Power Hiccup w/ Air Conditioning

just a quick Q:

recently got a 2000 Forester L manual tranny with 60K miles and still getting used to it's ins and outs. i notice that when i have the A/C turned on i get a very slight hiccup in the power output occasionally. not too worried about it, the power loss is very short, but i wanted to ask around to see if this within the bounds of normal operation.

thanks.

The compressor doesn't run constantly when you have the AC on, the hiccup is it kicking on. This is normal. BTW, this forum is for early turbo cars like RX's and SS's...

yes. i'm a noob and it seemed like the most fitting place to put the post but i guess i was wrong.

the only reason i posted in the first place was because the power shudder seemed to be more pronounced in this vehicle then in others i'm use to. i would have thought that performance folks would have a 'fix' for the issue (i guess it's mechanical, not electrical. so a cap inline with the power prolly won't work). anyways, like i said it's not a big deal.

shortly after i posted the belt started squeeking when the compressor kicked in so i think something else is going on. i tightened the belt some but it still squeeks. gonna lube it up some and hope that fixes it.
