Default What do you want in '07 STI/WRX

I want; 1. that new '06 ugly nose removed 2. the hood scoop better blended into the hood's lines, 3. The DCCD dropped 4. The rear wing redesigned so it's not directly in my rear sight line, 5. that rear roof spoiler removed, 6. the cruise control deleted,

7. Lighter wheels that can actually be kept clean instead of those impossible to keep clean BBS ones, 8. the tmic spray dropped, that as far as I have ever been able to tell does nothing, 9. a key fob that is harder to press so that the fob doesn't lock, unlock, set off alarm as easily and unintended. 10. The crummy radio that barely picks up local stations.

Now with all the money saved from above I want added; 1. 3.0 liter engine with more torque for easier off the line performance and 450 whp, 2. a tmic and a fmic with computer controlled switching depending on throttle position and or driver console controlled performance setting, 3. A turbo, fuel pump, injectors, etc. big enough for the above, 4. Better suspension/tires for highspeed, my STI still doesn't feel that stable at over 100 mph and on curvy roads unstable at lower speeds.

5. Great stereo system with satellite and I-Pod capability. 6. Thick black, black paint, no funny stuff in it. 7. Three plug in energy sources for accessories. One isn't enough. 8. Built in radar detection, hidden and with 4 sec scrambling capability. 9. 400 lbs off the car's total weight 10. Smoother shifting 6 spd, shorter throws 11. top window tinting on the windshield. 12. More gauges, all analog; Instantaneous MPG, oil pressure, oil temp, egt, proper boost/vacuum -30 to +30, very readable at glance. 13. Automatic lights with a light sensor so I can set em and forget em, 14.
A knockout 2 door model with spit rear seat. 15. shorter nose that doesn't drag on everything knocking stuff off and scuffing the rest.

$32,000 ought to still cover it. At least match that Korean 100,000 mi warranty. You are Japanese you know. What did I leave out? Oh yeah, one in my garage. hwy61 ps An STI floormat for at least the driver so I won't wear a hole in the thin carpet by 4,000 miles like I now have.

What?

and 450 whp is a whole lot to ask for a 4wd production car at $32,000. Then again I may not know anything

3. The DCCD dropped
Why would you want to drop features?

How about:

2.5l Block, but handbuilt with forged internals, equal length exhaust manifold, twin scroll turbo that pulls to a 7500ish redline, no TGV's (dunno if emissions will like that), and a better shock setup! Subaru should hire Bilstein or somone besides KYB to design their shocks. Or in other words, an S203 spec motor with a 2.5l block and Bilstein shocks.

To pay for the ones I really want, like that 500 whp engine you just described. btw an engine is an engine and a motor is a motor. Subaru's have an engine and motors. Anyone know the difference? hwy61

Actually I like the car the way it is. Perhaps a front mount but we all know that won't happen.

450 WHP out of a turbo 4 while still passing emissions? I think not, and lets not forget that alone would probably shoot the reliability to poop. As for dual intercoolers and all the other bells and whistles.... well to me the STi is a drivers car, BUT it still has to be confortable to drive. You have to figure most of the people buying cars dont care about all the bells and whistles your talking about. No I did not take a global survey! So I cant proove any of it. I think its fine the way it is and offers you more than most cars it competes with in the 30 to 35 K price range.

Jeez 450 WHP what the hell you wanna do be fastAr than the SRT4?

flashback, '97 or so Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru Domestic Auto Division. Marketing/engineering guys. What do you want. How about a 4 door rally based sedan, ok, lets put in sequential, multipoint fuel injection, ok, nice aluminum alloy hood, what!, BBS rims with big sticky Bridgestones, What!, Brembo brakes all the way round, What!, big ass hood scoop, Why?! Big ass tail mounted spoiler, oh, bout 8" tall, What! We were thinking big ole turbo with internal oil and water cooling, What!, oh yeah and variable valve timing, What! Hook it all up to a computer to control everything, Are you crazy! Then we'll add MOMO accessories, a 6 CD changer, water spray for the intercooler, I want a driver controlled and computer controlled center differential switch to controll power front to rear and I want a 160 MPH speedometer, redline at 7,500 rpm, antiskid brakes, side impact airbags, 25 mpg, 0-60 well under 5 sec., Top speed over 150mph, some of them new headlights and an indicator on the dash to tell you which side the fill door is on. Has to sell for $32,000.

You're all fired. hwy61 p.s. we also want awd and floor mats did we mention, cruise control, heated rear window defroster, electric windows, electric door locks, security system, aluminum suspension components adjustable steering wheel, variable wiper speed, compass in the mirror, outside temperature shown on the dash. You're all fired. Wait, what about 3% financing. Chrome exhaust tip too much to ask for boss?

A good looking car....and that shouldn't be too much to ask. Especially when a cheap ass car like the tC can do it.

11 speed mind controlled gear box, 476whp (don't wanna go crazy), Colin McRae mind implant (doesn't have to be from Colin, could be from a clone), flame shooting NOS system, 100 Gig iPod, ejector passenger seat, slot on the WRC team.

Oh, and it should cost the exact same as my '05 WRX is worth when I trade it in.

H8 5.0L or H10 5.5L with cylinders that can be turned off for retaining good mileage while cruising down the highway or being stuck in traffic. Natural aspiration but lots of tuned in torque and horse power. Legacy based Sedan with Sequential Auto/manual transmission. But good gear ratios and no loss in speed or acceleration.

other option would be an Exotic Subaru.

500BHP 6L H12. Looks like a Lambo or Lotus. AWD AWS VDC and 50/50 split. Tribeca cockpit and high grade components. $200K US price.

A little better looking car, more classy design. Better smoother lines. A coupe wouldn't be bad.

-2.5L w/ Forged internals
-Front mount
-Twin scroll turbo
-Better strut/spring suspension set up
-Wouldn't mind different wheels on the STi...We have had the BBS for long enough
-Keep the DCCD
-Redesigned Rear wing..carbon fiber perhaps.
-Not opposed to better gauges
-Some Recaro's like the Evo's get, or better seats.
-Who cares about stereo system being the best with ipod and satelite....You want a nice stereo, go personalize it yourself, there are a ton of products better than subaru can put in there. Built in radar...LMFAO. Give me a break.

Overall, just a total redesign appearance wise.

Simple. 2 door coupe with bulging fenders (think 22B), Stick with the EJ257, but do some work to bump the peak power and torque to 350/350 crank, raise redline to 8k, make the scoop part of the hood, CF wing, recaro seats with better bolstering, quicker steering ratio, slightly taller gearing, tighten the suspension up to make the car less understeering.

That's not too much different and shouldn't necessitate a big increase in price. Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy with just the 2 door coupe body, and the tighter rack combined with the rest of the 2005 car.

Nice wish list. But, you might as well ask Santa to bring you a unicorn.
I'd settle for a decent looking coupe that didn't look like someone put a scoop and wing on their grandma's car. Everyone else can do it, why can't Subaru?

Oh, a 3.8 flat 6 turbo like the Porsche 911 would be real nice, too. While we are wishing, a RWD option would be great, like the big SUVs.

i totally agree with what uncle scotty just said

they only person that has some good ideas is jd707--definately the twin scroll and upgraded suspension parts and some genome guages(red ofcourse)

as for the stereo ==who cares that is why there are aftermarket stereo shops and makers--that way you can spend as little or as much as YOU want not $1000++ for a radio shack stereo that the factory claims is good

and can i also ask the question about a top mount and front mount intercooler--you want to drop 400 lbs but yet you are adding (with all of YOUR silly suggestion) more weight onto the car

the only thing that i can agree with you hwy61 is the 2door coupe everything else is just stupid

we are all now stupider for reading this thread
