Default When do I change the plugs?

I bought my 99 RS back in October with 103K miles on it. How do I know if it's time to change the spark plugs/wires?

Change them regardless, its only 1.50 a plug and takes less than 15min to gap and install. And if the wires have never been changed you might want to do that too. Use a wire brush on the coil pack and clean off some of the corrosion on the contacts. Dont buy bosch plugs they suck on subarus. Use ngk/champion coppers or if you want, the oem subaru ones (also ngk i believe) Hope this helps.

Thanks. I pulled out the #1 wire and found oil. Is that normal?

Holy incorrect spark gap, Batman! The ones I pulled out were at .065, .075, .075, and .085!

The plugs are worn out and by the gaps well past time they should have been changed. The oil is probably the cover o-rings that seal the spark plug tubes leaking. So it's time for new plugs, cam cover gaskets and o-rings.
