Default turbo or swap

i can get a wrx turbo with a custom manifold, and all the goodies put in by me with the help of my special friends, or swap my motor for the wrx motor. what do you guys think would be the best. i've heard the 2.5 can handle boost and others say it cant. any suggestions? cause if i do do the turbo on the 2.5 i might want to put new heads in it.
