Cool Prescott Forest Rally & Rallycross Info

I'm forwarding this to the board because I thought some of the new people might be interested (and I know Bill doesn't really want to spam us). If you'd like to receive this mailer yourself, you can sign up by sending a request here . If you'd like to volunteer to help with the rally (I believe Bill's still short on workers), you can do that on this page . (Be sure to read the worker info page.)

For additional info see the Prescott Forest Rally site.

<hr>

Well, here we are, only 8 short weeks away from the 14th annual Prescott Forest Rally presented by Revolution Competition Wheels USA. The route book is nearing completion, the volunteers are getting psyched up, and the competitors are readying themselves for a couple of events between now and
Prescott. We opened competitor registration today, so if you are competing get signed up!!! Volunteer registration has been open for quite some time, and we are a little behind with the amount of workers, so if you are planning on volunteering for the event, and have not yet signed up, go on up to the web site and register. We will have some very cool raffle prizes for the volunteer force this year, including an 1100watt UltiMite generator, donated
by Subaru, several $100.00 gift certificates for KC products donated by KC HiLites through P-Sport.com, and many other goodies we're still pulling together. Shenandoah Bennett, our worker liaison, will have the first installment of the worker newsletter out this week, detailing more news. We are organizing a rallycross on September 22nd, at Yavapai Downs in Prescott. Everyone is invited to come out and run. It is during the Yavapai Fair, so there will be great presence, with many spectators. All registered volunteers for the rally will get 1/2 off the rallycross entry. For more info on the rallycross, go to rallycrossusa.com.

Question Hotels

I'm definitely driving out from Albuquerque for this event. I've signed up to lend a hand. Where are most folks planning to stay in Prescott?

I heard a nasty rumor that Prescott was booked solid, but I am going to look into Campe Verde and Prescott Valley. Perhaps I can find a Motel 6 within a half-hour drive of Prescott. That would be more than acceptable to me.

Most of the town is indeed booked. There is a list of hotels on the Prescott web site www.prescottforestrally.com. It is not a complete list, but it has a bunch on there. Next year we will be using 2 hotels to cover the rally.

I just booked in Prescott (not Valley) at the Comfort Inn. It looks like rooms are still available at other hotels in the city. Try www.expedia.com. You can search for availability by date and location. The best rate I was able to find over the internet was the Super-8

I would stay there, if I was going to even be in the state of Arizona that weekend.

Unfortunately I won't.

You guys have fun.
