Default take apart defi gauges?

Is there a way to take apart the defi BF series gauges? There are 2 screws in the back and that's about it. Was trying to figure it out but wanna see if someone else has tried before I potentially(sp) screw somethin up.

(in case you are wondering... i'm trying to paint the outside silver to match the black themed interior and did one by taping off the face but was a total PITA and missed a few spots )

thanks,
Zack

I'm not familiar with Defi, but many gauges can be pried this way. The 2 screws in the back most likely hold some internal components together.

Unfortunately, the only other method I know of is to use a hacksaw and cut the gauge wall; someone posted such a DIY (you should be able to google it) for a VDO gauge with plastic gauge wall.
