I just emailed Durakon directly and received this response... (still waiting patiently)

Quote:
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, we are the manufacturer for this product, however, we are under contract with Subaru to service the Plant directly and from there, they service you the consumer. These parts should be released to the public soon and can only be acquired through your local Subaru dealership for sales.

Best Regards,

I'll tell you this: Do not buy the OEM vinyl cover! The quality is less than that of a paper boat in an ocean storm. Mine is less than a year old and it's already fading and the tabs that you use to pull it tight over the bed are starting to separate from the vinyl.

To install and mount the rails. you need to drill some big-ass holes in the plastic that runs around the top of the bed and once you do that, you don't have any options for installing another bed cover (unless you're willing to look at the holes or pay a zillion bucks to replace the plastic).

It's been my biggest regret since buying my 05. An unbelieveable waste of money--and I got a great deal on mine. It's crazy-making just to look at it. Slathering Armor All and simialr stuff doesn't help much because it lasts for a short while and then it starts looking like crap.

I've got the Snuglid for my 03 - it definitely does its job but is sort of a pain in the ass if you're looking to use your bed more like a trunk (you have to manually open it every time with the key) but it seems pretty secure and definitely keeps stuff dry. a little pricey though

B.T.W. Snugtop does make a remote keyless entry system for the SnugLid. It was in the advertisement I got for it before I bought mine. Look here
