Default there is a top mount intake for NA's???

i heard from a guy that the legacys have a top mount intake becuase they have hood scoops. is that true???? or is it there just for loooks?? that goes for 98-01 2.5rs's

i have seen under the hood of my friends 98 or 99. looks just like every other subie. it was maf based if that makes any difference. i call bs on your friend.

All the N/A stock intakes for the cars that you mention draw their air from the fender. There was an intake (Gravelsports) that was a 'top-mount', so it could be that your friend possibly saw or heard about one on a suby. But it is more likely that he is just completely ignorant.

Ya, mine did too. Then I asked him how it could possibly be functional when there's a metal cover on the bottom of it.
