Default Anyone know how to access aim from work?

Well, I pretty much finish half of my work load an hour into work... and I have nothing to do until after lunch. Is there a way I can access aim from my office?

I'm able to install aim, but I think the network admins here block the default port # on aim which is 5190.

Is there a way to get around this?

The AIM login servers operate on all ports. If you can get through on 80, it should login.

well I couldnt get the aim client or any chat client to work, so I just googled and ended up finding a web based chat progrom that works, called AI buddy. So those that were in the same dillema, know that AI buddy worked

If you have access to Sametime, you can run it through that.

How?

Sametime is our corporate client, but everybody in my group uses AIM. I'd like to consolidate...

Yep. Decided to open the client and sure enough...there is a login to AOL right in the File menu.

I'll probably leave it turned off since I rarely remember to start Sametime.

Try downloading 'ProfileAmp'. It uses a proxy from the program.

It's used for showing the song that's currently playing on your Winamp, in your profile. You can also change colors of the hyperlinks (blue->whatever color). Hogs up about 1K of mem, but not bad.
