Question Q: 2005 WRX Keyless Entry Remote work on my 2002 WRX?

Curious if I can easily retrofit a 2005 'WRX' Keyless Entry Remote / FOB to work on ym 2003 'WRX'. Is this possible? If so, what's involved?

TIA.

I am also curious if this will work. I hate the 03 key fob.

Well apparently the 05 key fobs are horrible. That's from the secret cross post I did in the Newbs forum.

They are too sensitive and set off the alarm and/or unlock the doors/arm.

I've had my 05 Sti for 5 days and I have already 'panicked' the car about 3 times while the remote was in my pocket. The buttons are way too sensitive. The new alarm/remote start can't go in fast enough...

Thanks for the warning! Although my 03 fob looks cheap... I've never pressed the button's while in my pocket. 05 looks so much nicer. Guess I have to live with it.

I never inadvertantly set off my alarm or unlocked my doors or locked my doors with my '06 fob... Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it the same as the '05 one?

BTW, CompuStar FTW!

Yes, and you are lucky or you have lots of room in your pocket.

never had the issue on my old wrx. This new remote sucks. If I crouch or sit down anywhere near my car the panic alarm goes off. That is really nice epecially if I bend over in front of the car with my head 6" from the horns....

So back to the original question.... does the '05 (teardrop) remote work in place of the '02 remotes (rounded)?
