Tried to start, didn't start right, kinda fumbled a bit. Turned it off, tried again and it started normal. Now tonight when I get back in to head home. The car wont start. The engine turns over and everything. But it wont start, at first it was kinda fumbling a little, now it wont go past cranking. It was making this weird ticking, sort of like a fan by the trottle body and the lights on the dash for the oil, CEL, etc were dimly lit and the seat belt was flickering dimly with the Accesories turned off and the key out. I pushed down a little on the wires on top of the trottle body and it stopped ticking and the lights went off. But still wont start. Did I loose a ground or is something wrong with the fuel system? Anyone have any ideas. It was dark so I wasn't able to inspect the engine too well and I didn't have any tools with me.
Touch the battery terminals to your tongue. If you wake up a minute later in a puddle of urine, then your battery is okay. If you don't, then you probably need a new alternator, battery, or both.

Classic!!!

Seriously, that clicking noise you were hearing was probably the starter motor cranking over but it wasn't getting enough juice to turn the engine over, so it's little clutch was just slipping (clicking). Your high RPM blast may have killed the alternator for some reason (or maybe you threw the belt?), so I agree with Chi_San - a new alternator or new battery may be in order.
