Default perrin crank pulley on a 4EAT???

just wondering if it would be more problematic on the at than the mt...

really strange thing happened about a mile from my house...powersteering went out and dead alternator.
when i got the car home popped the hood and the crank pulley and steering/alt belt was gone.
in the morning i went looking for the parts on the street where the steering and lights came on and found the outer ring of the crank pulley had shot off the inner section which was still attached to the crank...only thing i can think of is that i had the belts a little too tight...

neyway i went ahead and ordered the perring steet crank pulley and only after i did so was it then that i thought about there being problems with less weight for the tranny to think about...
i'm sure there won't be anything bad other than the regular don't put it on/it't the greatest thing ever discussion...

Hmmm, I'm curious about this as well. That's kinda crappy that the freakin pulley ripped off.

The pulley was probably not torqued properly to the crank.

You won't have any issues running an aftermarket pulley on an automatic

I've installed an auto speed lightened pully on my 4EAT, it seems like you did not tighten the bolt enough, and the best were loose. did you retighten the alternator when you applied everything back and did you put back the belt tention to its correct place?

whoops...guess i wasn't clear

the perrin pulley i haven't gotten yet...the one that 'ninja starred' out of the bottom of the car was the stock pulley

if you look really close at the stock pulley you can see that the inner part which connects to the crank is separated from the outer part of the pulley which actually makes the contact with the accessory belts...

(i have a picture of the stock pulley but, can't post urls yet, still under 10 posts)

the funny thing to me is that the rubber gasket had no trauma to it and is still intact and attached to the outer ring...

anyway i just wanted to be sure that the perrin will play nice with the 4EAT...
