Default tips in getting a metal splinter out of my finger?

I got a vey small metal splinter in my index finger. I guess I got it while dremeling my struts when working on the car. There isn't much of it sticking out and I can't get it out with tweezers.

what should I do? use a needle to dig it out? if I give it a few days will it come out a bit so I cant get it using a tweezer?

thanks

Just cut your finger off. The splinter should come off with it.

X-Acto knife. Just make sure its sterile, and use neosporin on the resulting cut. That's what I do whenever I get metal shavings stuck in my hands or fingers.

I cut my finger with nail clippers once to get a metal splinter out. Sucked to do but I had to. Just cut only enough skin to get at it.

Nail clippers are a great tool for getting all splinters out. I constantly get splinters/thorns/fangs in my skin/hands at work

success!!

got it out. The sliver was tiny. it took awhile to work it out.

the metal shavings went straight thru my mechanic gloves. I guess the dremel carbide bit makes some very very small shavings.

ok this thread can die now.
