2 lane, 1 way road. I was in the right with a chrysler van to the left and behind me alittle. A durango on the right shoulder pulled out onto the road almost into me and I had to take half of the left lane to avoid nailing the durango. Thats when the van drove up my rear quarter (they were unable to avoid me because they were too busy eating tacos while driving
), then continued until it met the front left fender and punted me across the road and into the durango that I initially tried to avoid. Basically there was nowhere to go. The Durango driver got the ticket.I took the car to the body shop today. The insurance adjuster said it was about $6,600 just from the body damage she could see. The shop said they figured it more around 10k Front left wheel took a good hit and the camber is riding pretty negative in that corner. We will see how it turns out. I'm pretty bummed |

Man, that sucks big time. It's a battle out there sometimes with drivers doing dumb things like eating, drinking coffee, putting on make up and yapping on cell phones. It's almost inevitable that someone is going to ram you no matter how heads up you are. Although it's not your fault, there's still the deductible to pay and an increased insurance premium the next year.

Sorry to hear about the fenderbender.. but the good thing any metal can just about be straightened back into shape...
I had an accident with my Baja (front end) and the cool thing is they clean up real well... the fender sheetmetal is thin, but the substructures are plenty stout... the only thing to look for when you get it back from the body shop is the panel gap lines between the hood and the fenders... |

So far the damage is roughly at $7,200. I got the car back a week ago (it was dropped off while i was out of town) but I had to send it back seeing how the job wasnt finished in my opinion. I found it insulting they would send the car back calling it finished in the condition it was in.
I am not picking it up from the body shop until they do a decent job... possibly a week from now. |
