Default what tires for $400?

I need to change tires soon and want to spend about $100 a tire. tires that keep poping up are the kumho ecsta mx and the yoko avs es100. id like to know which tire between these two people prefer. also would like to know if there are any other tires that perform well overall that are around $100.

Do you want a summer or an all season tyre?

I am currently running Avon Tech M550 A/S tyres and absolutely love them!

Hankook's Ventus R-S2 Z212 Got this on my wrx. Amazing tire for the price. It last very long. It's all season tire. It can perform better than many or all the tire competitors at the price range of $100... Very please with the result. Just got them 2 weeks ago...

you better get your info straight, dont recommend a/s tires to somebody when they ARENT...you're gonna get them killed

but i'll give my thumbs up on RS2s...dry grip is right up there with falken 215s but noise level is unreal as a positive way (if you have driven on falken 215s, you will know what i mean). it feels like driving on a high performance a/s as far as comfort goes but will perform perform perform. and above all that, its a pretty bada55 looking tire.

my stock suspension are holding these tire back...

Falken ST-115, you cant kill em! And they grip like crazy. Not for track use but you will not (and should not) reach the limits safely on the street.

Fuzion ZRi: Made by Bridgestone, marketed poorly to TFNF crowd. Great tire for the $$$.

For cheaper tires I am partial to Kuhmo. I have run 712's and the MX's for summer use and have been happy with both. I hear the ASX is a reasonably good all-weather but I have read quite a few reviews that said the sidewalls were a bit flimsy.

...the 712's are absolute junk....the MX is great, but its price has gone up quite a bit lately....and the ASX has had few reviews, here, but as you said....flimsy sidewalls....

The Kumho Ecsta 712's really are crap compared to any other performance tire I've used (firehawk sz-50, dunlop sp-8000, avs intermediates). Just don't buy them.

225/50/16 will fit on the stock rims and have nearly the same diameter as stock. 225/45/16 will be shorter.
