Default 04 STI BBS backspacing

I'm starting to do some calculations and measurements to fit a nice set of wide wheels on the car for next year. I was wondering if anyone knew what the backspacing of the stock BBS wheel from an 04 STI was.

TIA,
Tim

53mm is the offset. Backspacing is a different measurement.

How to measure backspace.

Or use this formula:
(rim width ) / 2 + 0.5 + (offset /25.4) = backspacking

Using this formula, the 7.5 x 17 +53 '04 BBS backspacing should be:
7.5/2 = 3.75 + 0.5 = 4.25 + (53/25.4) = 6.336 inches backspacing

If you need an actual measurement, I'll probably have my wheels off on Thursday and might be able to do a measurement then.

Okay so by that then the backspace is 148.25 mm (assuming 7.5" wide wheel).

I suspect what Tim needs is the actual backspacing to figure out if he'll have strut clearance. It'll be larger than the nominal (width/2+offset) backspacing by the width of the inboard flange.

I've got snows on my STI wheels in the basement. If no one has measured for you by this evening, I'll do it.

I've got my stock BBS's at home with V710's on them. I just figured I would do the calculations while I'm at work getting paid

I know the offset and wheel width, just need to know the rim lip width...which gregr01 said is .5"....just not sure if that is correct. I used .25" (6.35mm) for my rim lip and I got a backspacing of 6.09" (154.6mm)

Jon is correct....I'm working on strut clearance....I already know I won't have fender clearance 285's are a little hard to tuck...
