Default Stock Strut life with H&Rs

I know this will all be guessing at this point, but I'd like you peeps opinion. I know using lowering springs with stock struts is generally a no no and will decrease the life of the strut to about a year or two.... but I've also heard that the stock struts on a WRX are pretty stiff,.. so. My question is, even though people consider the H&Rs a good match for the Stock struts, how long do you think the stock struts will hold out until I'd need to upgrade? I'll probably swap out the struts within a year anyway, but I don't want to feel like I'm working against the clock!

this may or may not be an exact answer since i have a 99 legacy 2.5gt. but, to instill some confidence...i have driven my car for 45,000+ miles on h&r's with my stock struts. no problems yet. knock on wood.
