Default Tribeca Ads

Damn,

In one evening I have seen more Tribeca ads than I have ever seen in three years for the Baja! What a joke. I guess they are determined to turn it into a winner with the same zeal they showed in turning the Baja into a loser.

Tribeca is a quality vehicle. It might be ugly, but no matter how jealous you folks are that it gets more attention than bajas ever did, it is a good vehicle. If you havnt already, you should go check one out for kicks. I would never buy one, not my kind of thing, but its still a nice vehicle.

and something interesting... the baja wasnt THAT overlooked. my brother was recently throwing away alot of old car magazines he had laying around for a few years. He tore out all the baja ads and reviews. THere is a suprising number of reviews and tests, and even a few full page ads for the baja.

One problem is that it was introduced only with the naturally aspirated EJ25, i think if they had the turbo form day one, it would ahve gotten some better reviews.

Also, if I recall the planned sales for the Tribeca are higher as they are planned to be sold in Europe as well. The baja was never planned to be a huge production worldwide vehicle.

My end conclusion... with all these Tribeca ads out there, I have to look at its ugly face more

looks like a toyota mini-van to me -- the baja is way more distinctive looking if thats what you meant by more attention. If you meant more advertising, that is definately true. But the commerical is kinda neat the way the other suvs turn into dust -- thats pretty cool!

Ok, the ad I saw was like "woah, that was a really dumb ad", so I'm ok with no ads for the Baja if they came from the same writer as the one I saw for the tribeca...my only real problem with it is that its yet another minivan marketed as an suv- and sorry, but IMO the forester is a station wagon, not an SUV-I don't care what the ground clearance is. It's a way to get crappy gas mileage and be legal..."oh, well, it's a truck, so that's ok"-all these gas hogs that never leave the pavement, never haul a load, and never tow a trailer are part of the reason we don't have a reliable tow vehicle anymore-all the soccer moms & dads that bought one to be cool but cant drive one and wreck left and right made the insurance outrageous, and gas aint getting any cheaper...add in vehicles like the b9 that are mislabeled and there's even more "suvs" to get into accidents and drive up the premiums. I wish the government would stand up to this bs and make them call a spade a spade-hey, they wouldn't let crysler call the pt a truck, why let all these other things be called something they aren't!! It just kills those that really do need a real suv (are there really any left?!) or full size truck to do their job (contractors and plow persons for example)-I wish the "suvs & BIG trucks are SOOOO cool" phase would never have happened!! Although I have noticed Mini trucks coming back, this is a good thing...

Ok, off the soap box!!

One last thing-the tribeca is FUGLY FUGLY FUGLY!!! I when I see one-at least we won't be the "bastard child ugly what was subaru thinking" anymore amongst other subie owners, it should take that place!! I have yet to see one in person, but the pics, it's like

After I was told that the front grill was suppoused to represent an Aeroplane fuselage and wings since FUJI Heavy used the manufacture airplanes; I was like wow.... Thats cool!!!! and I actually dig it just for that fact since I am such aeroplane lover. Subaru means constellation (Group of stars), and how do we reach those if not with flying objects. LOL.
PS the car has a built quality thats great, and the dash and seats are so plush compared to our Bajas.

I thought the grille looked like a set of captain's wings.

To those who think the tribeca is ugly.

remember all the ranting when the 2002 bug eye design came out? How many of those sold? Alot! How many of you have em? enough to keep this board running

I agree that the tribeca is relatively ugly... but if I needed a 7 passenger SUV... I'd buy it.

Do you? I was in the process of getting my Private, but I didnt have time or money for that fact, to take the actual flight lessons. I am thinking on going USAF or NAVY as an officer once I get my BSME and just do it there.

I do simulation all the time though in the PC (FS2004 is great and I have the hardware to run it smooth)

Thats cool. I know alot of people who started but ran out of funds. The best way is to jsut save up until you have enough to make it allthe way through. Time is also an issue though.

I have my commercial Single and multiengine land license and I just recently Got my CFI and CFII. Im now out of school and currently looking for a job... which is seeming almost impossible.

Although I no longer have time anymore, my current hardware is only good enough to handle the old MS Flight Sim 2000 pro. Still fun though.

Sweet bro. For now I just practice IFR flights and also VFR on the PC since its incredible how realistic it is. If you have not seen FS 2004 take a look and you will be amazed.

Thats some screenshots.

I also flight online at VATSIM.NET. Vatsim is a bunch of guys online doing ATC by the rules, its super fun.
